A Blast From The Past Part.2, original description

Since the ridiculously small letter limit on Youtube description, and even more ridiculous on Twitter (which both aren't meant to have long texts i suppose), i uploaded a photo (on my twitter) of the original Youtube description for 'A Blast From The Past Part.2' that i wrote on windows wordpad whilst i was rendering the tracks and the music video, but as a photo can also be a bit of a pain in the arse to zoom in and read, i'll just put the text here too on my blog, here it is:

I decided to dig in to several of my old projects yet again and then after trying to improve them, re-rendered new versions of same tracks. Only this time i adjusted them a lot more than i did for first 'A Blast From The Past' mix of my tracks, this because as i did dug into even older projects, the shittier the tracks were especially on mixing and mastering on house style tracks and also on structure and sound designs on my early dubstep productions which were also ridiculously bad on mixing and mastering, hell, even worse than electro house tracks, you know they are shitty since my skills were really basic back then as i had merely started producing music and had not practiced as much as now plus did not have the good Beyerdynamics headphones that i bought with money that i was able to have more when i was still employed for labor job, which have much softer and brighter sound output and hence i can adjust my music better too so not only skills on the line but mainly them still considering how old the projects were. I'll write what i basically did for the tracks under the names. Tracklist is as follows: 00:00-05:15 ShadowRaz - Dreamer (2018 Version) I mostly mixed and mastered the track quite a bit, it was, as usual for my old projects, over-compressed which is mostly caused by the standard Fruity Limiter on master mixer channel that i had ignored before without knowledge of what it did. Also i was (and am still in some slightly lesser amounts) heavy user of filters so there are those "foggy" parts a lot, to rise sounds which aren't really pro music producer sounding. 05:15-09:00 ShadowRaz - Beyond (2018 Version) I liked the base intro/verse parts with virtual instruments and virtual choir/singing voices i used for composition on this and kind of like the composition as well but the "drops" were horrible on the original so i tried to improve them quite a lot with new things such as violin arpeggio melody and a "screech" lead while mixing and mastering the whole track again. The 2 original dubstep sound designs on the verses are only adequate but without them the verses lacked something and didn't want to start creating something new anymore on this old crap. There is some inspiration on this, but mostly as always was being creative the way how i was able to. 09:00-11:54 ShadowRaz - Life (2018 Version) Didn't do much else except some mixing and mastering, also cut down the last part of the track completely off. Contains many presets i used for composing however the main drop beep lead for example i was lucky enough to be able to make back then with the skills of that time as i was really unfamiliar still with sound design. This is the oldest track of mine out of all the tracks in this mix. 11:54-15:38 ShadowRaz - The Beast (Orchestral 2018 Version) This track had good enough base melody with the pad and soft arpeggio violins, but the original project and render from it were horrible with the "dubstep parts" and hence i decided to basically create a fast orchestral version of the track while mixing and mastering as well. Improved sustain legato ensemble violins, also with some extra notes on the base melody. Also composed couple of new virtual orchestral percussions etc. The point on which the track changed to dnb on original, is a bit rough transition on this orchestral version but whatever. 15:38-18:36 ShadowRaz - Passion (2018 Version) On this project i had a rather annoying situation. As i have been occasionally switching to new versions of Fl Studio, and also have installed my OS several times again during the years, i had totally lost the original project at some unknown point even though i have tried to keep all in safe places like much older projects are all safe for example, however, i had the Passion Pt.2 project safe and sound, and as i in fact did produce the part.2 on top of the original project, it wasn't the biggest tradegy as it was adequately easy to redo the track as all sounds were there already. Performed also mixing and mastering while re-doing the melodies to not be so over-compressed and distorted crap. Outcome has softer sound but can't shake the feeling that the drop lead sounds somewhat less intense for such a house track. 18:36-21:15 ShadowRaz - Melody (2018 Version) Mostly mixed and mastered the track. As i wrote on the originals description, the piano melody i composed was heavily inspired by another piano melody that i heard first on 'Fytch - Amelie' track which was also from the movie Amelie, also the style changes a lot on the halfway point but this truly was more of a practice project. Surprising thing is, this upload got the most views out of all of my videos on my old channel with about 2200 views. 21:15-24:11 ShadowRaz - Dawn Of a New Day (Orchestral parts 2018 Version) I think i composed quite adequate virtual orchestral intros for both tracks (as this is 2 intros that i combined together, the point of change can clearly be heard after 1m10s of the track) so i decided to merely mix and master them a bit and then use as they were. Also composed few different notes for the guitar lead on 'Of a New Day'. The originals were full tracks after the intros with verses and drops BUT THEY WERE HORRIBLE so i decided to not even attempt to improve them since the melodies or structure weren't that great and hence why bother trying to rub shit out of shit. 24:11-27:08 ShadowRaz - Passion Pt.2 (2018 Version) This is very similar to the original Passion on which i made it anyway, as i merely changed the base melody, beats and lead notes etc a bit back then. Certain amount of mixing and mastering had to be done after removing compression in order for this to sound softer and still keep the house intensity at least in some amounts. 27:08-31:32 ShadowRaz - Life Pt.2 (2018 Version) This is part two for the original as i made it on top of the previous project, however there isn't that much similarity except for being on Electro House genre and having the same bass and the piano melody style prolonged in this one. On this as well, i mostly just mixed and mastered it to certain point. A bit too much side-chaining especially on the "drops" as all sounds of which the saw melodies especially jump a bit too much, i tried to dial it down a notch but i dunno... whatever. Too much filters in use as well, but starting to cut them down for this upload feels like working too hard for nothing except own amusement as my channel does not have any followers what-so-ever anyway. 31:32-35:58 ShadowRaz - The Beast Pt.2 (2018 Version) On this particular project i had most work done. On the original not only was the mixing and mastering horrible, but also the drops were ridiculously awful with the "growl" sound design, as they were on the the original 'The Beast' on which i made this. For the new improved drops i used the violin melody i composed for the original which has some classical vibe in my opinion and the beat and a speech style sound which was interesting early sound design of mine but then used several of my later sound designs to produce and compose better drops. Both beast projects were a reference to the fact how much some (not all) people discriminate or bully ugly or somehow odd/different people as if they were some hideous beasts, and how it can negatively affect the life of the individuals. Also reference to the legendary Disney movie on which a guy is cursed from the original superficial fella to become the beast, therefore learns to not be so superficial but is bitter and angry of his fate, and as he finds love, is then tranformed from the angry shell into a prince for a lovely lady, that is touching in my opinion. 35:58-41:06 ShadowRaz - Farewell (2018 Version) This is the latest track of all the tracks on this particular mix. I did this on top of 'Feel It' project back in the day, of which i also added the improved version to the first 'A Blast From The Past' mix of my older tracks. I had the least effort done on this however i did still mix and master it a bit and also changed the verse dubstep growl/drone thing and changed the virtual guitar instrument on intro. Noticed only after rendering the video for 6 hours after putting it together for few, that this last track was a bit foggy and could have mixed and mastered it more to sound brighter That's it folks, all the tracks i tried to improve from the old projects for this particular mix and a description for each track of what i basically did in really short terms and slightly about them as well. Outcome isn't mega great but i think this will do, for such old tracks being looked back up on. Also tried to create an effect music video maybe worthy of watching. Hope you enjoy. To add, i think i got the music video quite nice looking at least compared to the "Part.1" music video. Tried to create and adjust the particles to look soft while changing their color to sort of match the pictures i found on the 2 web pages i linked, and also changed the color of the clock i added from the part.1 video to the corner there, and even the color of the jumping ball logo with low frequency audio spectrum and the upper screen audio spectrum from mid to high frequencies.
