'A Blast From The Past Mix, Part.3' Original Full Description

This is the full original description for 'A Blast From The Past Mix Part.3' with greater details as i will post the actual mix on Youtube with a lot shorter description as Youtube has way too short letter limit for my writing. The link to the mix if you happen to get here first instead finding the mix first:

This is the mix of my old tracks that can also be heard on the background of Battlefield 1 Slayer Part.5. But that isn't the only reason for this mix. I have dug in to my old projects lately, and started improving them with better mixing and mastering, and on some occasions structure/sound designs/and even compositions and then after trying to make them sound better, rendered new versions of the old tracks from the improved projects (of course not over-writing the originals still on my hard-drives, just having several versions of the same projects), this merely because not only did i have fun digging into old shit and making them sound better in my opinion, but i can upload those new improved versions in these mixes as also music videos and not only as background music for gaming stuff on my new (artist name) account for any possible people who would be interested on my older music but with improved quality. I did still put a lot of effort back in the day especially on composing and planning the structure on what to do but still also producing them the way they sounded with my shittier skills for all the tracks on all the three (so far) 'A Blast From The Past' mixes and now put even more effort again into the old projects. This time i will write more details about the originals and their reasons etc as well and not just what i did now to them. 00:00-01:22 ShadowRaz - Escape (2018 Version Intro) On this old project i merely took out the dubstep drone/growl on the intro (which i oddly hear on my mind if i listen this version, guess it has burned into my skull) and mixed and mastered the said intro a bit and finally rendered that part only. The original was a tribute dubstep track for Flux Pavilion - Daydreamer which was pretty obvious since it sounded a lot a like on the verse with the bass and lead though with my own orchestral twist and composition which was still similar to the original. The drop was utter failure as i was shitty dubstep producer back then and decided to only put the intro in this mix which was adequate early virtual orchestral part from me and unrelated to the tribute verse in all other aspects except being on the same project and an introduction to the track. The name has a similar meaning to the purpose of my 'Orchestral Redemption EP' name and is also a reference to the original 'Daydreamer' tracks lyrics "escape to another world, live for another day" as in music can be quite nice mood changer or savior from bad places. 01:22-03:39 ShadowRaz - Sunshine (From 'Sunshine EP', 2018 Version) On this i mixed and mastered the track some amount but mostly it sounds the same as the original, however you can notice still clear difference without compression as i produce my music nowadays without it completely. It was actually an accident for having compression on all of my tracks (as i had only half the idea what i was doing, had music in my mind to produce but not the know how properly) long ago with me then just piling other stuff on top of it like sometimes double compression in earlier projects than this holy crap. The 'Sunshine EP' was intention to have happier electro house / trance style, which in my opinion is easy to produce (compared to dubstep) and compose (compared to more complex orchestral music) especially if feeling it but also when just improvising, but it can be taken a bit further as well than the usual crap with some dubstep style sound designs etc. The solo violin plugin has provided me with a good lead virtual instrument aside with the usual electric guitar (that presents itself much earlier in my production styles) and then all the countless sound design leads, and have used it to produce and compose many tracks already. It has become quite regular virtual instrument on tracks i start composing with virtual instruments, on some projects a bit more upfront like this, on some projects it is more of a filling as a softer background lead like for example on the new single of mine 'Time Traveler'. The style to combine violin solos on top of electronic genres is actually inspired by the music of Lindsey Stirling but i think i have taken an own direction on this too after finding the virtual instrument (Friedlander) to compose as i have rather always started combining electronic music filled with sound designs with virtual instrumental compositions 03:39-06:58 ShadowRaz - Prototype (From 'Orchestral Madness EP', 2018 Version) This is, in my opinion, the shittiest track on this mix, however not like a horrible track, especially considering that this is one of my earliest full virtual instrumental orchestral tracks with some slightly better before this still like 'Intro' on the same EP, if the track was unbearable i wouldn't have even dug into this one and render the 2018 version and add it to the mix at all though it still brought quite nice time filling considering the length of the BF1 video (btw, you know how back in the day on some CDs you would get kind of disappointed on some of the tracks in it and listen to the 1 or 2 single tracks that are good but others were literally more of fill tracks as in not as great and only there to make them a full album to sell? I mean it wasn't always like that but on some occasions surely it was or it is more of a taste thing too, i think of this track as kind of something like that.. but i still did put effort into the composition of the melody and percussions to sound adequate and certain amount on the guitar solo though must be one of the shittiest guitar riffs of mine from all full tracks (not those practice shits that can be even worse), the virtual drumkit beat is kind of.. well... i just prefer personally composing those tasty orchestral drums and other percussions (if not composing dubstep/dnb/house beats) like have started up on composing more taikos lately with addition to the normal drums i use to compose, as they all sound better to my ear and taste on my virtual instrumental music). I mixed and mastered the track a bit and also composed/produced the guitar lead to become slightly different compared to original. Not much else. By the way... the name is actually reference to the game Prototype which was rather interesting brutal sandbox game i liked but the track has nothing to do with it... i was shitty on coming up with names earlier especially if they weren't from some deeper place and hence i just saw the poster of the game on my wall and voila, got a name for the track -.- 06:58-09:21 ShadowRaz - Whatever (From 'Orchestral Madness EP', 2018 Version) Now this is interesting track in my opinion as it has one of my first "better" heavy (so to speak) dubstep drops though not mega fancy. Designing heavy dubstep is a difficult task especially if you aren't very familiar with complex sound design yet. After my only slightly older tracks 'Feel It' which extended to 'Farewell', i really think on those and from them forward my growls and drones plus other dubstep sounds started going in to a better direction. Basically the point on which i started designing most such sounds with Serum plugin instead of Massive which i used on many horrible previous dubstep drops like on both of the original 'The Beast' projects, 'Dawn', 'Beyond' etc and nowadays use more as individual effect, lead, some modulating bass sound or individual distorted bass etc design plugin. This also has the virtual orchestral twist combined with dubstep as hybrid much like the intention was on 'The Beast' projects from which point forward it started defining the style of many of future projects, and this also has dnb style beat BUT with really slow tempo so something like drum'n'dubstep genre? :D 09:21-12:10 ShadowRaz - Redemption (From 'Orchestral Redemption EP', 2018 Version) On this i yet again mostly mixed and mastered the track some amount. The 'Orchestral Redemption EP' was intention to match its first part of the name nicely and have several virtual orchestral tracks while still having 2 tracks that were melodic dubstep hybrids with the instrumental style, and this is the track that i named the same as the second word of the EPs name, which was intention to point out how music can basically save you (or at least me) from bad places of mood/state of mind etc. The downlifting distorted saw sound design is inspired by MANY epic orchestral tracks i have heard so not a very original style but i was testing out adding that style sound design to the otherwise orchestral track, and the way how i composed the basic saw melody design with sidechain style was also inspired from some other electronic orchestral hybrid track. Still this wasn't uber much inspired and own composition obviously, as i don't even remember the tracks i got inspired from. I merely mixed and mastered this 2018 render version as well and not even that much all and all. 12:10-15:00 ShadowRaz - Shade (From 'Sunshine EP', 2018 Version) This is the third track on the EP i mention in the brackets (as i do with all the tracks that were on my old EPs). I actually recorded 2 things with my shitty microphone on this, the coin bling sound effect before first house drop and also recorded my own voice as i said one two three four in English. Also had a bit unusual second drop as i added a bunch of different small "speeches" on top of my music so to speak. It isn't actually uncommon at all to add those speeches to electronic genres and i was experimenting this precise thing more heavily on this than on any other track of mine. The way i added them almost has a message to say though mostly were random.. I actually also tweeted about this with a screen capture clip from within the project. Yet again, mostly mixed and mastered this and not that much even. The name of the EP was a reference to my actual real last name (as it is on this my new artist name which is also a riddle of first name and what i do), the name of this precise track was a reference to the artist name i was using back then as it had shadow in it and where there is sunshine (sunlight) and objects, those create shades outwards from the direction of light and the object when it is realistically thought. 15:00-17:19 ShadowRaz - Salvation (From 'Orchestral Redemption EP', 2018 Version) This is, in my opinion, better virtual orchestral track on the EP than Redemption, however the style changes quite a bit actually sort of. I was still practicing my orchestral production skills, as i still am, but weren't that experienced then. I still like to start experimenting on the tracks instead of following some precise rules of composing and producing, just look at 'Feel It', 'Farewell' & 'Through the Darkness' singles for example, and what these started when i have started even changing tempo and genre styles in the middle of many tracks, most recent being 'Holiday Song' which is a hybrid of dubstep/dnb and even freaking house. Didn't do much else on this either except some general mixing and mastering. The name of the precise track was in the "theme" of the entire EP i explained this otherwise already on 'Redemption' description 17:19-20:13 ShadowRaz - Rapture (Full 2018 Version) This project was the start up point of this style arpeggio piano melodies on my future projects. It is funny how i got inspired to compose a piano melody from the game 'Bioshock', more precisely the track on the game called 'Cohen's Masterpiece' (check it out if you want) which has a classical piano style mostly. The start of that track inspired me hella lot as i liked it more than the rest of the track. So i practiced creating arpeggio style piano melodies to sound soft and "realistic" enough electronically with my set of virtual instruments though have composed piano melodies before of course before getting inspired from it like on 'Redemption' for example. As i had composed and produced a soft style arpeggio piano, i started adding couple of voices from the game like the cla-clang bell sound on the start (objective sound in the game series) and Big Daddy moan and couple of speeches from Little Sister character, and then made a short melodic dubstep drop as practice, even started making a music video but then ran out of motivation to proceed and the project got left behind as a preview only. I decided to continue the project a bit and made it full length. Mostly had some work done to extend the drop which has rather interesting new change in vibe in my opinion but otherwise just some general fine-tuning of my old project. Update. I actually fixed the version that is on the mix a bit for the Bandcamp upload after hearing the horrible transition from "different perspective" after having days between doodling with the project and listening it as whole. It was shortly after first drop when the more advanced arpeggio piano composition starts, and therefore produced it a bit more and replaced the new version as downloadable track. It has new drum compositions against the second verse piano composition which sounds actually quite nice in my opinion. Also some slight frequency adjusting on couple of things especially the pluck design on first part of both drops (from which i also took out the unnecessary reverb) 20:13-23:47 Walking In The Air (From: The Snowman) ShadowRaz Remix (2018 Version) There was this certain point in my producing practice times, when i started creating many remixes one after another which i usually don't do as i am more of a composer than producer (which is why btw added composer before electronic music producer (compared to the order on outdated ShadowRaz website) on the skill areas of the name header of this website). This "wanting to remix phase" occurred in the WORST time possible of my production skill development time as i was extra interested on creating dubstep, but was really crappy at it as i was on producing as well. So this was the best remix of that time but it still had for example a horrible drop and also mixing and mastering and now wanted to improve the track. I was using a MIDI file on this to match the original notes easy enough with some sounds i used for this production, unlike nowadays however i rather never do remixes anymore, maybe i should with my current set of skills as even this is just old crap improved only slightly? Though used my natural pitch-ear otherwise (the way i compose anyway) for guitar lead for example. So i mixed and mastered the track quite a bit, produced a new drop to replace the old crappy one, which is on the weird style of change in the original composition. Also improved the ending some amount as it was a improvised second drop on the original and fully own composition, it serves in this as more of a weird orchestral dubstep guitar riff outro drop with heavy bass as i did not have patience/motivation to produce a heavy dubstep drop with a lot of sound designs like on many of my dubstep productions. Even if i use old sound designs, it requires a lot of effort to produce/plan and get a heavy dubstep drop to sound smooth. The guitar lead is only slightly different but not much as i think i got it to sound quite nice as a remix lead from the original composition, as in it can be identified as the 'Walking In The Air' composition but has my guitar riff style with more own notes a bit in it too already. I also feel the urge to mention an inspiration behind the sound design of mine that is present during most of the track: It starts immediately at about 9 seconds in, on the track with a low-pass filter rising it. It is a design of mine with Massive plugin by using the oscillators and a performer to create easy enough modulation without adding a shit ton of automation clips on the playlist for sound or wavetable etc modulation, and this precise sound presented itself first on the 'Harry Potter Hedwig's Theme' for which i designed it, and have called it "Hedwig's Bass" after it, but it was inspired by the style of a truly inspirational artist for me called 'Arkasia' and more precisely his tracks 'Sightings' and 'Not Exactly' so if you want to check them out, go ahead. Using the Massive and it's performer to design such sounds makes it very similar even though i tried not to copy him too much as i don't like people who use others for advantage at all. But what is the line between copying and inspiration? I tried to write about this on my old blog but did not quite describe it accurately enough still as i'm not even sure myself. 23:47-28:17 Sunshine ArtWave - Time Traveler I actually uploaded separate music video of this track already on my channel so you can check it out. I will still write about this project here again but even more precisely though did write some amount on the individual uploads own description. I opened few of those old 'Random orchestral practice' projects of mine on Fl Studio, of which i have uploaded few as screen captures too, and found about 30 second lasting (as in couple of composition patterns in a row) small practice project on which i started out with the 2 notes you can hear on this track, and started uplifting it a bit with horn melody and fascinating use of staccato violins compared to some of those old project styles on which i hit some 3 note tones with action strings and then start composing some individual notes with it too. This had a softer virtual violin plugin in use and the staccato notes are all individually on the piano roll and yet without sounding too machine made in my opinion even though all my instrumental music is. I barely remember making the original from hundreds and hundreds of other projects of mine. So i wanted to start extending the project. I started composing orchestral percussions, violins, and soon enough i started with my guitar riff style for "drops" which i personally like to compose and produce and which also has become quite standard style from my early productions only improved a bit nowadays, and would want to improve myself even more as i'm using a virtual guitar instrument from Nexus plugin enhanced with Guitar Rig 5. Imagine what i could do with support and therefore new guitar plugins and more new stuff anyway people. HELP ME PLEASE. I still haven't gotten any support from anyone.. EVER... (Update. 2. May 2018, as i checked my Email, this one guy had actually donated 1€ for downloading the 'Sunshine' track from this mix/album on my Bandcamp even though i added it for free download, this is the first ever earning from my music if you don't count the ad revenue of 80cents from Youtube you can't even "cash in" or 8cents from Spotify plays through the distribution site i used which i doubt i can "cash in" either and don't feel the need to anyway, and as BC and Paypal will take their cut, it is about 74cents for all the years of producing, but still it is something for one fella to want to support me, maybe someday this will add up, when i have published more worthy music for some people, or not, but who knows..) barely even likes on anything. So... anyway. I actually came up with the name before i started extending the original old project, which is a reference how i have been going to my own past recently for the tracks in all three 'A Blast From The Past' mixes and improving them, and hence i have "time traveled", written in more fantasy style term which might remind you of COUNTLESS movies, tv-shows and books about traveling in time perhaps. You can hear actually the rather clock style ticking percussions for example which i composed from the same plugin (Action Strikes) i use to compose all my orchestral drums. This idea actually came from 'Beyond' project i dug in recently as well but also as sort of reference to the time travel thing and even the clock on the music video(s). Then you can also hear resemblance to 'Symphony For Her' and 'Life In a Nutshell' (the "sad pad" at the very end is one of the only sound designs in this, which i designed precisely on that project, if you don't count a hissing riser/downlifter at some points) with woodwinds and piano style (which, again, is resemblance to the style i started up after 'Rapture' project) and even percussion (though the taiko style started up on one of those long new tracks on previous Battlefield 1 Slayer videos), and guitar riff style of mine which traces back hella lot further as i mentioned already. All tracks except the remix are produced and composed by Arto Päivänsäde © ShadowRaz / Sunshine ArtWave The remix is also produced by me, but only partly composed with some new notes on guitar lead for example and the ending fully. The original 'Walking In The Air' composition belongs rightfully to the original composer. Oh and about the music video.. I made it on the bases of the 'A Blast From The Past Mix Part.2' music video project as i had worked on it already before so no need to work extra hard for the music video again, so it is very similar, but i used different pictures so had to do some serious alteration even still which took hours to even adjust the picture changes and effects with colors of everything etc. Noticed only after rendering the video 8h25m that the upper audio spectrum composition layer was moved a bit down from the upper corner from some mistake click and hence it cuts off ever so slightly on the picture as it should be completely on top of the screen, another mistake is that the ball logos audio spectrum circles starting dots are visible even though they are supposed to be behind the saber circle. Oops. Well not very serious mistakes but i should still seriously triple check the video before rendering the whole thing which takes almost half a fucking day for such half hour video while my pc is running hot even though i had looped separate video files from earlier renders for the intense render heavy effects which are the particles and saber ring that even can be looped properly.

Source for all the background pictures: https://wall.alphacoders.com/by_sub_category.php?id=170800&name=Cool+Wallpapers I browsed that links locations few pages for these rather interesting (computer generated i assume) abstract photos, which many have that shrapnel clutter style or some rather metallic stripes vibe

Now to add, you can download all of these tracks and also the ones from previous 'A Blast From The Past' mixes for free on my Bandcamp account, on which i also added some texts in the name of copyright information for example how you can even re-upload and use these tracks for free for your own stuff too and not just listen JUST as long as you mention me as the artist, the name of the track, and link to the home website of mine that connects all my online activity which is this and aren't making money from my crap without me getting anything... so anyways the link to my Bandcamp is everywhere here on my home website but i'll add it to this blog post as well:
